Freckles Doll
Freckles PARTY GIRL Red hair GREEN EYES & Party Dress 31" Uneeda made their FRECKLES doll in many variations. This is one of the prettiest Freckles doll, with the Fairy Princess face, curly red hair, brilliant green eyes, full lashes and a splash of freckles across her nose and cheeks. (Uneeda introduced the Fairy Princess face style in 1962 and used it for many dolls after that.) Her sheer pink party dress is one of the nicest I've seen for the big dolls and it's in good condition. The dress is pinned in back, which is not unusual for old dolls. She has plastic body and legs with vinyl arms and hands. Doll is jointed at hips, shoulders and neck.
This Freckles doll has the slender hourglass figure that was used by many doll companies. Madame Alexander used a similar body for their Mimi dolls, Uneeda used a similar body for the Disney Fairy Princess and Pollyanna dolls, Eegee sold a similar large doll with this attractive body style. I believe American Character used it for their large Betsy McCall doll. And Uneeda used it the most, I believe, as they made similar walker dolls for almost 20 years.
