Baby Bumpkins 1968 RED HAIR - Baby Dollikin Face! Cherries Print! By Uneeda. This 1968 MIB Baby Bumpkins doll is adorable! The doll measures approximately 17-18 inches and has her original dress and booties. She is wearing a very cute pink dress with lots of lacey ruffles and a sweet cherries print.
You can see that her face paint, face color is good. She may be a tad dusty but she's basically pretty clean even though her box doesn't have the saran wrap on it anymore.
This Baby Bumpkinsis made of plastic with a vinyl head. The face is the Baby Dollikin face mold, but it has aged a bit from use and duplication - so the features are not as pronounced as they were when this face was first introduced a decade earlier. I like to collect this dolly face, in all sizes and variations: it's the best of all the vintage dolly faces IMO.
Baby Bumpkins has especially bright blue eyes! Very pretty with that dark red curly hair, which is an unusual color on old dolls. Her die-cut box: makes it look as if she has a little stool and play table!
She is jointed at hips, shoulders and neck. The back of the box shows that the doll was made in MCMLXVIII, which means 1968. Uneeda used Roman numerals a lot in the 1960's and 70's. Baby Bumpkins was a name that Uneeda used over and over. (The first Baby Bumpkins was a drink-wet-tears doll that was 13" long.)
This doll is old: she is not played-with, but she's not exactly pristine either. The doll may need a little wipe-down. The box looks as if it's been knocking around for more than 50 years, which in fact it has.
