Purty was first introduced in the late 1950's. This is SUNNY which is very similar to Purdy and she was made in 1964. Sunny has the same soft vinyl body and the eyes are very similar, but Sunny has a more cheerful expression than her sister Purty. Sunny is also harder to find: she was possibly only made for one year.
This doll wasn't played with, I don't believe, because her blonde-reddish hair is like new: soft and silky. She has her original hangtag too.
Sunny is a happy baby: She's happy and glad! The doll with the Sunny disposition! She grins and giggles too! Her face changes! So lovable and cute!
Apparently this doll is supposed to squinch up her face when you squeeze her but the mechanism doesn't work right. She's a squeaker dolly too, you can see the squeaker on her chest, and it works very well. She's almost as loud and talkative as Uneeda's Blabby doll.
Sunny is made of very good quality soft vinyl, jointed at hips and shoulders. She is wearing an original quilted bed-jacket and comes with the matching bunting. Sunny is very clean and I washed her quilted bunting and bedjacket. She has a fresh new ribbon to tie the bunting on.
Sunny's eyes are inset with vinyl molded lashes. Her blue eyes are still very bright and sparkly. She is approximately 15" inches long.
