1961 American Character 18 inch Betsy McCall Doll
Vintage 1961 American Character 18 inch Betsy McCall Doll with original outfit. This lovely doll is like new. The body style is similar to that of Miss Ideal and Madame Alexander Mimi.
Betsy McCall is jointed at neck, shoulders, wrists, hips and ankles, so she is very poseable. Made of all vinyl and plastic.
Betsy McCall is unmarked. This doll was mistakenly identified as a Uneeda doll in a vintage doll magazine, but she is not a Uneeda. I've seen this doll mint in an original box, which says she's made by American Character.
These Betsy McCall dolls were made in more than one size. My photos show a brown-eyed doll that was 21 inches tall, and a blue-eyed Betsy McCall that was 18 inches tall. There may have been other sizes and variations as well.
