1980 Uneeda 19 inch Baby Toodles with Original Nightgown - Blonde Sweetie!
This is Uneeda's full size babydoll from 1980. She's shown in the 1980 catalog as a brunette wearing this same nightgown. Baby Toddles measures approximately 19" when you measure around the deep bend in the knee, which has been the traditional method of measuring babydolls with the bent knee. The catalog lists her as a 20 inch doll. (If you just measure head to toe without taking the bent knee into consideration, then she measures approximately 17 inches long.)
This is a soft and cuddly babydoll with a cloth body, vinyl head, full vinyl arms and 3/4 vinyl legs. The vinyl is a soft pink color. She has sleepy eyes which are a sparkly deep blue and molded lashes. Her very blonde hair is still shiny. I don't think this doll was played with much. There is some staining on the white doll body. Otherwise she is very clean and the vinyl is very good.
The vinyl arms, legs, hands and feet have pretty sculpting/molding. This was a popular doll body style for many years, and I think Uneeda was not the only company that used it. The doll body may have been used with different heads; I believe I've seen a variety of faces with this body. Baby Glee is another one that used this body style.
