Uneeda Plumpees Doll Toy
This is one of the large Plumpee dolls. She measures a little more than 8 inches tall and is 5 inches across the base. She still squeaks when you squeeze her. She's in good vintage condition, not perfect, but very nice.
These dolls originally came with a lace bonnet for girls or a knit stocking cap for boys. Plumpees were introduced in the late 1960's. She is marked on the back of the neck: Uneeda Doll Co. Inc, 1967, Plumpees TM.
The Plumpees are squeeze toys that were made by Uneeda in the early 60's or late 50's. They came in a large variety of colors and two sizes. There were also some (rare) AA Plumpees. The Plumpees are a collectible item: there are collectors who like to acquire a complete set. These collectors may be after squeeze toys rather than dolls. It seems that smaller Plumpees might not be as common as the large ones.
