Uneeda BRIDE walker doll with ORIGINAL GOWN. Brunette 32" 1960's.
.
This classic Bride doll was made in the 1960's by Uneeda doll company. Her neck is marked as such, but it's very faint. The gown is original: it has the donut snaps in the back which were typical of Uneeda. I don't think the cap and veil are original though. Uneeda Bride has dark brown hair and pretty aqua blue eyes with full lashes. The doll does need some cleaning and the tulle on the gown is kinda gray. I don't have the facilities anymore for cleaning and restoring all our dolls so we are selling them as they are..
.
The doll's body, arms and legs are made of plastic: the head is vinyl. Based on the materials used and the style of the gown, this Bride is most likely from the mid to late 1960's. She is 32 or 32 inches tall, jointed at hips, shoulders and neck. .

HELPFUL HINT: These old doll gowns can be safely washed by hand with OxyClean from the laundry soap section of your grocery. Soak the garment for a few hours or overnight, and then be sure to rinse very thoroughly before ironing with a warm (not hot) iron. I usually use a thin cloth between the iron and the garment to protect it. We've been able to wash very delicate, antique doll clothes using OxyClean, just be careful to handle old doll garments gently. Use our advice at your own risk: but collectors have told us they are very grateful for PrillyCharmin's refurbishing tips! .
This Uneeda Bride doll has the slender hourglass figure that was used by many doll companies. Madame Alexander used a similar body for their Mimi dolls, Uneeda used a similar body for the Disney Fairy Princess and Pollyanna dolls, Eegee sold a similar large doll with this attractive body style. I believe American Character used it for their large Betsy McCall doll. And Uneeda used it the most, I believe, as they made similar walker dolls for almost 20 years.
