Wiggles - Innovative 1950's Uneeda Newborn with Body-Sleeve
This is the 1950's Wiggles babydoll by Uneeda. She was made in a very unique way; She is all vinyl with a body sleeve to hold the arms and legs onto the body. This makes the doll sort of floppy like a newborn, and more cuddly too since she's not rigid.
Underneath the Body Sleeve is a vinyl torso. When you squeeze the body, the doll squeaks or squawks. Wiggles makes a sort of wheezy baby cry. Blabby is also shown in the photo for comparsion, because SOME of the Blabby dolls were also made with a body-sleeve. Blabby gives a very loud squawky squeal when you squeeze her.
This doll is in good played with condition. She still has very good blonde hair with no bald spots. (Hair looks reddish in the photos but actually its more blonde than red.) Her fixed blue eyes are bright and shiny and pretty. You can see in the photos that she's a pretty baby (as much as Wiggles can be considered pretty.) I believe that Wiggles was made to resemble a newborn baby.
Wiggles is approximately 18 inches long, but that depends on how the body-sleeve stretches when you measure. Blabby and Wiggles are the same size, but Wiggles' body-sleeve is more roomy, so her legs can stretch out an inch or two more than Blabby's; even though the vinyl pieces are identical in size.
Wiggles' body sleeve is made out of a plastic or plastic-nylon material. It has held up well over the years, so whatever it's made of is fairly durable.
