Uneeda Babyskin Compo Doll AO
Uneeda Babyskin Compo dolly, is most likely from the mid to late 1940's. She is in remarkable condition and looks almost new, as you can see. However, the fragile latex is coming apart on one shoulder: the arm is still attached but the latex has some holes in it. The elastic sleeve is helpful in stabilizing the arm. The body is stuffed cloth and the soft rubber latex arms and legs are stitched to the body. Latex must be oiled with baby oil once in a while to keep it soft and supple, otherwise it can dry out.
The head is compo with rocker eyes that are bright with full lashes. There is a small chip in the compo, near the eye. This Uneeda babydoll has an especially pretty vintage face! The doll's pink organza dress and bonnet are original. She also has original muslin bloomers.
The original hangtag says she is a Baby-Skin Uneeda Washable Doll. This sweet old babydoll is 16 inches long. Because of the problem with one arm we have marked her down, but she isn't the kind of doll that a child could play with even if she was perfect. She's very beautiful for display.
