Horsman LaNewborn Doll
Horsman LaNewborn Doll - Brown Hair - Asian?
The Berenguer dolls are well-known by collectors. This LaNewborn style doll has the familiar newborn doll body by doll artist Salvador Berenguer. The LaNewborns have been sold in the USA by Diana Dolls, JC Toys, Dolls by Berenguer and possibly others. I was a little surprised to see that this one is marked 1989 Horsman. I'm wondering if Horsman introduced these Berenguer dolls in the USA. (The Berenguer family of doll artists live in Spain.)
This doll does not appear to have been played with very much. The rooted hair is still in nice condition, soft and shiny and no bald spots. The brown eyes are fixed. The doll is made of all soft-vinyl. It is jointed at hips, shoulders and neck. The doll is 16 inches long. The outfit appears to be original: a pink jacket and a cloth diaper.
This is possibly an asian doll, but I'm not sure about that since the skintone is very peachy.
