Butterball Sweet Babydoll by American Character. This cutie-pie is one of our all-time favorite vintage dolls because she's such a terrific little character. She is holding her finger up as if she wants to tell you something.
Butterball is a roly poly 19 inch baby made by American Character. Butterball has huge blue eyes with all their lashes. She has plenty of lovely reddish-blonde hair and no bald spots. Butterball is wearing a new dress,pink bonnet and shoe/socks that are not her original clothing but they are very cute on her. She is clean and pretty.
Butterball is made with an unusual kind of vinyl that was calle Lastic Plastic. It is a soft vinyl skin that was pumped full of foam rubber to keep its shape. Originally her skintone was peachy but almost all the Lastic Plastic dolls have faded over the years so they have grayish creamy skintone that is still attractive: it's just not very pink anymore. She is jointed at neck, shoulders and hips.
The Butterball doll in this photo is wearing an original outfit. She was dressed in satin babydoll pajamas with a matching nightcap. Color could be blue or pink. Sometimes Butterball wore a dressy white frock.
