Butterball Sweet Babydoll by American Character. This cutie-pie is one of our all-time favorite vintage dolls because she's such a terrific little character. She is holding her finger up as if she wants to tell you something. Butterball is a roly poly 19 inch baby made by American Character. Butterball is made with an unusual kind of vinyl that was calle Lastic Plastic. It is a soft vinyl skin that was pumped full of foam rubber to keep its shape. Originally her skintone was peachy but almost all the Lastic Plastic dolls have faded over the years so they have grayish creamy skintone that is still attractive: it's just not very pink anymore. She is jointed at neck, shoulders and hips. Butterball has large pretty eyes. Her hair color can vary: strawberry blonde, light yellow blonde or white blonde. The doll is this photo is not wearing original clothing.
