Twinks 8 inch Doll by Uneeda 1950's with Box, All Original Outfit This doll was most likely made around the same time as Purdy, in the late 1950's. She has a knitted outfit; and I believe Uneeda dressed all their dolls in these little hand-knitted costumes one year. The yarn colors and the knitted styles are all very similar. The box says this doll is named Twinks. Uneeda sold these 8 inch all-soft-vinyl babydolls under several names including Baby Janie. And they were included in a playset called Wee Three; which included Mommy doll, baby doll and a toddler doll. The original blue box shows a lot of wear and tear, but it's still intact. The box says this is a drink and wet doll that is washable and durable. Baby Twinks is jointed in the usual places: hips, shoulders and neck. Sleepy eyes are still very bright. Molded eyelashes. The doll could use some cleaning. She's in good condition, all original, but is not pristine. I don't think the doll has been played with though, and maybe has never been removed from her box. Original rubber bands still hold the booties on. All the doll companies sold these little 8 inch cuties. The most famous one is Baby Ginnette by Vogue, but this doll is very much like Ginnette and may even have come from the same mold company.
